Distal mandibular position treatment in adolescence
Use of Twin Blocks
Keywords:
malocclusion, esthetic, Clase II, Mandibular retrusion, Twin BlocksAbstract
Class II malocclusion was described by Angle, as a classification based on the discrepancy in the anteroposterior direction. From a therapeutic point of view, class II malocclusion due to mandibular retrusion has been approached with different treatments.
Twin blocks are functional appliances that reposition the mandible and redirect occlusal forces. A clinical case of a young class II patient with mandibular distoposition using twin blocks is developed. This will confirm if the principles and objectives developed by Clark are manifested in our patients.
