Study of prevalence of health risk and pathology in disgnatias in 3, 4 year old children in Uruguay

Abstract

If we adhere to the concepts of the early treatment of the disgnatias before 6 years old it is needed to have a knowledge of the real situation of the population to be
assisted. As in the literature we have not found previous studies about the prevalence of health-risk and pathology in disgnatias at these ages, we found it important to let know
the results of our epidemiologic studies in preescholers children in the environment of the extramural activities of the Carrer of Specialist in Prevention- Orthopedic and
Orthodontics dento-facial in IUCEDDU. In this article we present the results obtained in the surveying of 245 preschoolers children (range 3-4 years old)
for the study of the prevalence of Health, Risk and Disgnatias, during the period 2007-2015. The data was collected by means of the Epidemiologic File of IUCEDDU registered in the National Library No 2357 (29/12/2014) (1). The results show yet a high prevalence of risk and pathology of disgnatias at these ages.
